ESPN Clueless About Jets

It's always amusing how self-proclaimed experts often have no idea what they are talking about.

Today, ESPN came out with their latest weekly NFL power rankings. The Jets were ranked 25th out of 32 teams, which seems about right.

However, the blurb about the Jets stated that the Jets "Defense -- led by John Abraham and Jonathan Vilma -- has been solid."

Exactly what is this analysis based upon? Putting aside Abraham and Vilma, the Jets defense has been anything but solid. Indeed, it is a colossal disappointment. The defense was awful in the losses to Kansas City, Buffalo and San Diego, and subpar in the losses to Atlanta and Jacksonville. Only against Miami, Tampa Bay and Baltimore can one say that the Jets defense "has been solid," and neither Miami or Baltimore are exactly offensive powerhouses.
